Custom-made Ceramic
and Glass Components

Borosilicate Glass

Borosilicate glass is widely used in chemical and engineering applications. The glass offers a higher maximum use temperature and better thermal shock properties than soda lime glass.

This glass is extremely chemically resistant, has a low thermal expansion coefficient and is particularly useful for making laboratory glassware.  It is available in many sizes and forms such as rod, tube, plate and as machined or hot formed components.

Characteristics of borosilicate glass include:

  • Excellent chemical resistance
  • Superior properties to soda lime glass
  • Low thermal expansion
  • Readily available in a number of standard forms
